Well, the countdown is officially at three days. Our deputation team of two is scheduled to depart on Saturday (May 10th) at 730am, we are looking forward to getting through a couple days of traveling. I am going with a recent WSU grad, Mindy. We're getting stoked, little things like purchasing a "mammoth" sized duffle bag tonight seem to make us realize that we are actually leaving the country, though it probably won't hit us until we step off the plane in Africa.
Instead of the mass-email option, I decided on a blog, but I will try to also send a quick email when I update, but try to check in if you have some free time. I'm not sure how often I'll be able to update, but I'll do my best to keep you posted on our daily lives in Mekelle.

You should be jealous that Claire is going to Wildhorse. You can even blame me. You may not send my wife pictures of cute black babies that are available for adoption because she would want to adopt them all. We have 5 kids which as you know creates enough craziness in our lives.

Hey Megan. I will be eagerly reading your blog to see what you're up to in Ethiopia. Now, when you are so tired, and all you can do is think in Amharic, or the northern Ethiopian language you'll be proficient in, its okay to post a blog in that too. We may not understand it, but it will be impressive. What a time you're gearing up to have.
You are great! I am so excited for you....and if you put up enough pictures then I will indeed be able to live vicariously through you. Someone has to do it...I will step up.
